Eastern White Pine boards can be used for interior structural and finishing applications and various other carpentry projects, such as furniture and shelving. Taking to paint and stain well, Eastern White Pine is easy to work with both hand and machine tools. Middle of the road in terms of durability, Eastern white pine is known to be moderately resistant to decay. With a tendency to darken with age, Eastern White Pine heartwood is a light brown, sometimes with a faint reddish hue and its sapwood is a pale yellow to nearly white.
