Simpson Strong-Tie HDU2-SDS2.5 Holdowns are pre-deflected during the manufacturing process, virtually eliminating deflection under load due to material stretch. They come with (6) 2-1/2" Simpson Strong-Tie® Strong-Drive® SDS screws which install easily and provide reduced fastener slip. Using SDS screws results in a greater net section, when compared to bolts, as no material is removed.
Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of bolted holdowns offering lowdeflection performance for a range of load requirements. All of these holdowns have been tested in accordance with ICC-ES's AC 155 acceptance criteria and are approved for use in vertical and horizontal applications.
The HD3B is a light-duty holdown designed for use in shearwalls and braced-wall panels, as well as other lateral applications.
Hurricane Tie is made of 18-gauge galvanized steel for strength and durability. It attaches the rafter or truss to the studs and is designed to help counter the effect of high wind and seismic events on a structure.
The H2.5A is designed for easy installation, with higher uplift loads to meet new code requirements. It was designed to help counter extreme winds generated by nature.
